For mechanical drafting and detailing we use AutoCAD and Inventor Professional it is a comprehensive design tool which is used to model and detail mechanical components and assemblies. Its ability to constrain the model, manipulate and simulate the model thru various means such as excel spreadsheets means one constrained model can be driven to produce many variances by altering values in the spread sheet.
